Ferntree Gully is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, in the Dandenong Ranges, 32 km south-east of Melbourne’s central business district. It is in the local government area of the City of Knox.

The suburb is on the Belgrave train line and it takes between 42 minutes (stopping all stations and then express service from Box Hill) to 60 minutes, (all stations service) to Flinders Street, CBD.

The William Angliss Public Hospital and Emergency Centre is located south east in Upper Ferntree Gully approximately 4 kilometres just off Burwwod Highway.

Ferntree Gully, The Basin, Boronia and Upper Ferntree Gully are the only Dandenong Ranges towns or suburbs in the City of Knox (although some parts of Upper Ferntree Gully are within the Shire of Yarra Ranges). The City of Knox is one of the few cities not broken up during the Kennett Govt review of councils and had its area expanded to include parts of Upper Ferntree Gully that were previously part of the Shire of Dandenong Ranges now the Yarra Ranges Shire Council.

We gave Hutch a call after arriving in Jam jerrup after a 3 hour drive and our fridge in the back of the ute was not running. He just shook his head at the way it had been set up 3 years earlier. We organised to come back the next week and get it done correctly. Hutch was very professional, explained what he did, well priced and everything is running so much better now. Hutch was fantastic. I’ve got an an old BMW from the 2000’s which can be notoriously difficult to diagnose when things go wrong. He got to the problem quickly, sorted out a solution and all for a reasonable price. Can highly recommend!

Firstly thanks mate for rectifying the ECU throttle body issue on our courtesy car.We run a busy business in Automotive as well and from time to time there are cars that can be troublesome, Hutch came to our workshop and assisted in diagnosing a fault that was didifficult for other specialists . Hutch is brilliant! I had a bus load of country kids on a camp and was stranded in Melbourne on a rainy, miserable day. Had to get the kids 450km back home. What a pro! Hutch came out to fix a couple of mystery issues on my van. He arrived exactly when he said he would, and knew exactly what he was doing. He fixed everything quite quickly, and at a very reasonable cost. Highly recommend using first aid auto electrical.
